Dear Community,
We are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the Radiocarbon Series, organized by the Neotoma’s Outreach and Community Engagement team. This series brought together experts to explore the critical intersections of chronology, radiocarbon calibration, and paleoenvironmental reconstruction.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to all the presenters who shared their time and expertise. Your contributions provided invaluable insights into the complexities of radiocarbon dating and its role in building robust chronologies as well as tutorials to learn how to use Oxcal and Bchron.
For those who were unable to attend the live sessions, or for anyone who wishes to revisit a specific topic, all recordings are now available. We invite you to explore the full series on the Neotoma YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@neotomadevia7/).
- Ph.D. Brendan Culleton – Fundamentals of radiocarbon dating
- Ph.D. Lorena Becerra-Valdivia – Radiocarbon dating and Bayesian chronological modeling in paleoenvironmental applications with OxCal
- Ph.D. Quinn Asena – A Virtual Ecological Approach to Modeling Uncertainties in Paleoecology
- Ph.D. Quinn Asena – Hands-on workshop for age-depth modelling using Bchron
The success of these initiatives depends on the active participation of our global community. Thank you for making this series a success, and we look forward to seeing how these discussions influence your future research.
Best regards,
Alejandra Iboya (on behalf of the organizers)–
