Oral presentations
Oral presentations should not exceed 15 minutes.
Oral presentations are organized in thematic clusters (approximately). Each cluster ends with 15 minutes discussion of the respective oral presentations (see preliminary program).
All authors should bring their presentations (Power Point or PDF) in external devices ready to install into the equipment provided by the venue.
Oral presentations of the morning and afternoon sessions should be installed at the latest before the start of the respective sessions, i.e. during the registration time-slot or before the lunch break. The earlier you bring your presentations the better for organizing the sessions and avoiding delays.
Poster presentations
For Poster presentations the recommended format is A1 – 0.54 X 0.84 m. The minimum recommended resolution is 300 DPI (dots per inch) at the final physical size.
Poster presentations will be exhibited in a seperate hall on the underground floor of the venue adequately equipped with panels.
Please bring as soon as possible your posters to the registration desk and we will take care of preparing them for exhibition
ROUND TABLE ON COMMERCIAL ANTHRACOLOGY
Organized by: Marvin Demicoli, Lisa Bellemère, Elysandre Puech, Ariane Lambart, Lou Godefroy, Sandrine Paradis-Grenouillet
We would like to invite anthracologists working in the commercial/preventive archaeology sector to fill in this survey aimed at understanding and strengthening the role of preventive anthracology within anthracology and archaeology more broadly.
Survey

Anthracological analyses conducted as part of development led, commercial, rescue, and other preventive archaeology projects now generate a significant proportion of the discipline’s data. Yet these results often remain dispersed, difficult to access, and
underrepresented in broader scientific discourse. At the same time, specialists in the preventive sector face diverse methodological, institutional, and logistical challenges.
To address these issues, we are conducting a study to document the professional realities, working conditions, analytical practices, and research contributions of anthracologists working in preventive frameworks.
To better understand and address these issues, we have prepared a survey about the State of Preventive Anthracology, for which your insights are essential. By sharing your experience through this survey, you will help build the foundation for a wider community discussion and contribute to future steps, such as:
• identifying national and institutional differences and barriers (e.g. legislation and regulatory frameworks)
• examining and comparing the variety of anthracological methodologies used across institutions and countries
• identifying opportunities for better data sharing and the potential development of a collaborative platform, network, or shared databases
The survey is /anonymous /and is intended specifically for anthracologists working in preventive, rescue, commercial, museum based or other development funded archaeology. If this reflects your primary professional context, we warmly encourage you to take part. Please help us reach as many practitioners as possible by sharing this survey with your preventive anthracology colleagues.
The results of this survey will form the basis for a roundtable discussion to be held at Anthraco 2026 in Thessaloniki (6-10 July).
Your contribution is invaluable in shaping a safe, inclusive, and collectively informed discussion at the upcoming roundtable at Anthraco and in helping build a more connected and collaborative international community of preventive sector anthracologists.
If you would like to be more directly involved in this initiative or share additional insights about anthracology in preventive/commercial archaeology, please feel free to contact us
at: rescue.anthraco@gmail.com
Thank you very much for your time and contribution, and we look forward to your participation.
