Tropical Ecosystems Network, York

REAL members from the University of York are members of the Tropical Ecosystems Network which is a cross-departmental initiative at the University of York which has been developed to bring together the broad experience and interests that exist across the University in research based in tropical regions. There is a focus of research on this broad theme within Biology, Environment and Archaeology, and we are exploring the potential to broaden the scope of work via interaction with colleagues from Health Sciences, Economics, Chemistry, the Centre for Applied Human Rights and History. The aim is to set up a network of active researchers to build collaborations, develop new interdisciplinary research direction and bid for funding opportunities.

Dr.Rob Marchant is a key academic involved in the network while Colin Courtney Mustaphi, Rebecca Kariuki and Esther Githumbi are participating members.

The latest meeting held on 8th of May introduced the theme of International Development within the tropics.
